Behind Sonic and Valleyway Homes is a dedicated team that help people in Gippsland turn their dream home into a reality.

The Directors:

Sonic and Valleyway Homes have 3 Directors who share the responsibilities of running the business based on their area of expertise and background:

Shaun Goodison is our Construction Manager. Shaun spent his early years as a carpentry subcontractor for Sonic Homes, and then later he moved on to become our East Gippsland Area Construction Supervisor. Shaun became a Director of the business in 2006. Shaun is a Registered Domestic builder, and has been building for 20 years.

Mark Henry is our Estimator and Finance Manager. Mark was firstly employed by Valleyway and Sonic Homes as Financial Controller in 2000. He then later moved on to become a Director of the business in 2003. In recent years Mark has expanded his skills by becoming a Registered Domestic and Commercial builder, and is also an accredited First Rate Energy Rater.     

Darren Haylock is our Marketing and Adminstration Manager - Darren started with Sonic Homes in 1992 as a Salesperson, and spent his early years with the business working out of the Sale Display Center. He became a Director of the business in 1999. Darren has a Batchelor of Business Degree from Monash University, is a Registered Domestic Builder, and an Accredited First Rate Energy Rater.

How we started:

In 2003 when Sonic and Valleyway Homes came together, 2 of Gippsland's most respected building companies joined forces to become a mega building centre, servicing the people of Gippsland. Both companies boasted a rich history of affordable quality construction over many years:

Brief History Sonic Homes:

Sonic Homes was established in 1987 at Sale in Victoria. The early years of the company were spent constructing transportable homes. Around 1991 the company's market was changing, more and more of the enquiry was for large brick veneer permanent homes. A decision was made to move to an on-site based construction method. This allowed the company to broaden its range of designs, beyond the restrictions of transportable construction.

From 1991 the company continued a steady growth through the 90's. The company became a household name thanks to its friendly "no pressure" approach and its outstanding commitment to quality in its construction. Sonic Homes had moved from a small operation to a large volume builder, without compromising customer service and quality.

Brief History Valleyway Homes:

Valleyway Homes like Sonic Homes had its origin in the construction of transportable homes. Established in the 1970's, and originally based in Morwell, Valleyway Homes has been a household name in building in the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland for over 25 years. For a brief period in the early 90's the company's display centre was in Rosedale, however it then moved to its current home on the Princes Highway at Traralgon East.

Valleyway Homes also sensed the need to move away from the transportable method of construction which had been its primary focus for the first 10-15 years of the companies life. Through the 90's and into the new century Valleyway Homes became Gippsland and the Valley's premier builder of quality family homes at affordable prices.

Today and into the future....

Since the combining of the Valleyway and Sonic Homes businesses together at the Princes Highway, Traralgon East site in 2003, the company has continued to prosper. 2006 saw the opening of the Belmore Display Home which is proving to be an extremely popular new home choice for many Gippslanders. In 2009 we opened our new Seymour 83 and Davenport 180 display homes. The Seymour 83 returns Valleyway Homes to its traditional product line of small affordable holiday homes and granny flats. The Davenport 180 is a luxurious country style home which has been a strong growth market for the company in recent years.There are more changes planned at our Traralgon Display Centre as we continue to offer Gippslanders more choice, better quality and friendly honest service. Valleyway and Sonic Homes continue to service the greater Gippsland area from Warragul in the West, through South Gippsland and as far East as Lakes Entrance.

With many choices now becoming available to customers in the new home market, it's nice to have a Gippsland based building company that is owned by Gippslanders, with an established reputation of building quality homes in the area for over 25 years. Our Salespeople are experienced in the new home building industry, and are 100% focused on ensuring that you achieve your dream home. We will alter our standard plans, build in any form of cladding, and will even quote your own plan. Sonic & Valleyway Homes are members of the HIA and MBA and have 3 accredited house energy raters on our staff.
